Precious was born in the FACS Farm Nursery Barn; one of a litter of eight piglets. Precious is light pink in colour, although his nose is a dark pink and he has blue eyes with long black eye lashes. Chad was in the Nursery Barn when Precious was born, and has watched him grow into a healthy, robust feeder pig in the FACS Farm Pig Feeder Barn. Chad studies animal nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan College of Agriculture and Bioresources. He and his father Farmer Tyler mix a special blend at the FACS Farm Feed Mill with barley, wheat, corn, peas, vitamins, minerals and protein. Precious has plenty of water and lives in a computer controlled environment with lights 12 hours a day and a a constant supply of feed and water. He enjoys having company and shares his spacious pen with 19 other feeder pigs.
