Faith, with her friendly smile and red braids, made her debut as the FACS Animal Care Specialist in 2005. Her mission in life is to educate everyone, especially children, about responsible animal and poultry care. She has visited many livestock shows, agricultural fairs and other events in Saskatchewan. Faith has a tricycle at Prairieland Park, and sometimes rides it around, visiting with children and answering questions about farm animal care. She is featured in a special guessing game at the back of the FACS Farm barn display, which is a main attraction at the Western Canadian Livestock Expo and the Prairieland Park AG Experience at The Ex in Saskatoon and Canadian Western Agribition in Regina.
Faith visits the FACS Farm in Friendly, Saskatchewan regularly, and she has developed a FACS Farm Tales Test with help from Happy the Horse, Hilda the Beefy Heifer, Moona the Milk Cow, Cuddles the Chicken and Precious the Pig. She is currently working on plans to develop new FACS farm Tales Tests that focus on bison, turkey, sheep, elk, alpaca and White Tail Deer.
Faith is also an author, having helped with the creation of the ‘Tales from the FACS Farm’ puppet show and the FACS Activity Book; as well as making significant contributions to this special FACS website for children Farm Animal Fun. |
